Escape Hatch

Eadon Consulting carried out the design of a bespoke automatic escape hatch for the iconic Leadenhall Building in London. The hatch conceals a fire escape route from the basement level into the 30m tall ground floor atrium, and lifts in the event of a fire to allow the use of the staircase underneath. More...

Eadon Consulting was invited to be part of the team responsible for delivering the design of the new Merchant Square lift bridge in Paddington Basin. Knight Architects and AKTII had won a design competition to replace an existing moving bridge which did not fit with the clients requirements. More...

ROV Garage

Eadon Consulting were invited to provide a redesign of an existing garage for remote operated vehicles (ROVs).  The ROV garage acts as a lifting frame for transfer of the ROV from on board a ship into the water, as well as providing a mounting frame for all required ancillary equipment. More...

Great Belt Bridge Cable Crawler Gantries

Following their success in designing Cable Crawler gantries for the Humber Bridge, Eadon were employed to carryout a similar task for the Great Belt Bridge in Denmark, the third largest suspension bridge in the world. A Cable Crawler gantry is a mobile working platform which straddles the main cable of a suspension bridge and can travel from bridge deck level all the way to the top of the main towers. More...

New Zealand

Eadon Consulting often receives enquiries from around the world relating to large moving structures they require assistance with. Back in December 2009 we received an initial contact from structural engineering consultancy Novare Design (formally Peters and Cheung) in New Zealand. They had heard of a potential project coming up and wanted to secure our services to assist them and their client McConnell Dowell with a moving bridge. More...

Dreamland Roller Coaster

Eadon Consulting carried out the design of a timber bogie which will be used as an integral part of the rolling stock for the newly refurbished Scenic Railway at Margate Dreamland.  The scenic railway was one of the oldest roller-coasters in the country until it was burnt down in 2008.  The new railway is based on the same layout and design as the original, however has to meet modern design standards. More...
