Engineering Design Consultants

Roles at Eadon

We are always keen to hear from good engineers who are able to apply their skills to a variety of different disciplines and who are excited to be involved in both design and analysis work. We strongly value the understanding of engineering fundamentals as well as specialist knowledge, meaning that direct experience in our field is not a prerequisite.

Structural

Eadon Consulting offers structural engineers an opportunity to develop their skills beyond those used in a more traditional structural engineering consultancy.  While knowledge of the structural design codes is useful, most of our projects require much more creative thinking than typical building structures, and many will require the consideration of the way mechanisms interact with the structural elements.

The role will see you running projects and interacting with clients and the wider project team and offers the chance to share your specialist knowledge with other engineers. Working on a varied project portfolio will provide the chance to expand your skills in fields such as structural dynamics, seismic design and fatigue.

This role requires a creative thinker who has the ability to apply fundamental engineering knowledge to unusual applications. A willingness to learn as well as the confidence to lead projects is also essential. A degree in Structural Engineering or similar would be highly desirable along with excellent written and verbal communication skills and mathematical proficiency.

Mechanical

Eadon Consulting offers mechanical engineers the opportunity to apply their creative talents on projects across a wide range of industries.  One month you may be designing a cunning linkage to automatically deploy handrails for an emergency escape hatch, and the next you may be assessing the stresses in a high integrity nuclear crane or diagnosing the cause of failure of some bulk handling equipment.

As well as your technical input, the role will see you running projects and interacting with clients and the wider project team, and offers the chance to share your specialist knowledge with other engineers. Working on a varied project portfolio will provide the chance to expand your skills in fields such as mechanical handling, bespoke machinery design, and analysis and verification.

This role requires a creative thinker who has the ability to apply fundamental engineering knowledge to unusual applications. Successful applicants will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, and a willingness to learn as well as the confidence to lead projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as mathematical proficiency are also essential.

Design Draughtsman

Eadon Consulting offers Draughtsman an opportunity to be involved throughout the full design process on exciting projects across a wide range of fields.  Working primarily in Solidworks, our Draughtsmen are involved from early in the project lifecycle, assisting with the generation and modelling of design concepts.  As the designs develop, you would retain ownership of the model and take a particular responsibility for ensuring that the finished design can be manufactured and assembled, before ultimately generating the detailed manufacturing drawings.

The role will see you interacting with clients and the wider project team and offers the chance to share your specialist knowledge with other engineers.

This role requires a creative thinker with attention to detail and the ability to quickly absorb new knowledge.  Experience with 3d modelling is essential, preferably in Solidworks, and also knowledge of detailing large machined items, fabrications and assemblies, including the use of geometric tolerances.  Familiarity with relevant manufacturing methods such as welding and machining are also an advantage.

Graduate

Eadon Consulting offers Graduate engineers an opportunity to rapidly develop both their technical expertise and their business skills while working on a fantastic range of projects. One month you may be designing a cunning linkage to automatically deploy handrails for an emergency escape hatch, and the next you may be assessing the stresses in a high integrity nuclear crane or diagnosing the cause of failure of some bulk handling equipment. This is one of those rare jobs where you will get to use the knowledge you have acquired in your degree on a day-to-day basis.

The role will see you develop early responsibilities and will provide the chance to interact with clients and the wider project team, so you will be able to learn from other engineers. Working at Eadon will give you access to our excellent Performance and Development scheme, and provide the chance of support to Chartership with a chosen institution.

This role requires a creative thinker who enjoys solving challenging problems and has a thorough understanding of the fundamental principles of engineering. A degree in engineering or similar and a passion for engineering are essential, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to learn.
