Seismic and Dynamic Analysis

Eadon Consulting has experience using their expertise in design and analysis to provide specialist Seismic and Dynamic Analysis services to a range of sectors including the nuclear industry.

Seismic Analysis

Our engineers use seismic analysis to determine how a structure or component responds to ground movement.  Using finite element software we can determine the mode shapes and modal frequencies to feed into a response spectrum or time history analysis.

Our experience includes seismic analysis of nuclear handling systems where our team have assisted with the design and performed the analysis and substantiation calculations. We have applied a range of approaches including response spectrum analysis and advanced hand calculations to the high level of detail and quality that the assessments required.

Eadon Consulting also completed the design of a 4 storey metrology tower which had to be designed using a dynamic analysis to Indian seismic and structural steel design codes.  The implemented seismic analysis was a response spectrum analysis using STAAD Pro Finite Element software.

Dynamic Analysis

We use dynamic analysis to determine how a structure or component responds to loads that vary with time. This may include sudden impact loading, such as drop load cases, transient loads, such as seismic loading to design for earthquakes, harmonic loading and blast analysis. Using finite element software we can determine the mode shapes, modal frequencies and time history responses for a range of different dynamic analysis problems.

Eadon staff have a wide scope of advanced capabilities, including non-linear material analysis and time history analysis. We also have experience of fatigue assessment including rain flow analysis.
