The Eadon team members have a varied range of experience and skills. Here you can read about a few members of the team, their thoughts on working here and what they have learnt and enjoyed along the way.

I work as a Design Engineer at Eadon Consulting. My role is quite varied and what I do on a day-to-day can vary widely. Some days it could be working the workshop and putting stuff together. Other days it can be sitting down at the computer and producing calculations. The variation is definitely a good point for me – I like to be able to get my teeth stuck into lots of different things. Most recently I’ve been working a lot on nuclear projects to try and accommodate nuclear waste and dispose of it safely. It’s really important to me to ensure that we’re managing future energy supply in a responsible and so I get a lot of satisfaction working on projects that help towards the solution to this challenge. I started working at Eadon during the pandemic. The team were amazing at welcoming me despite us all working remotely and it was easy for me to fit in and find my place. One of the key benefits of working here has been the level of responsibility they give you straight away.  You get to work in a close knit team to produce very good work. I joined Eadon as a Graduate Engineer in August 2019 having completed a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Sheffield. Eadon Consulting stood out to me because they are a smaller company working in a range of industries, with an obvious passion for their work. I have always found Eadon Consulting to be a very welcoming and supportive company to work for. When I joined, the whole team was very understanding of the fact that I was a recent graduate and supported my development by guiding me and giving me realistic tasks to do. Working for a smaller company like Eadon has had many advantages. I’ve had the opportunity to get a lot more involved in several different disciplines and to switch around roles. A highlight of my first two years at Eadon was working on and demonstrating the REACH (Remote Extendable Access, Characterisation and Handling) R&D project. REACH is a bespoke, modular system developed for getting sensors and tools into hazardous environments through 6-inch ports for use in decommissioning in the nuclear industry. It has been a fascinating project to work on and I was able to contribute a lot, including design of a motorised hinge […]

I joined Eadon Consulting as Graduate Engineer in 2013. Since then I have grown personally and professionally surrounded by a supportive and friendly team. I graduated in Civil and Structural Engineering at the University of Parma (Italy) and after six months of work on design and verification of structures in seismic areas I moved to the UK. I have always dreamt about a job like mine. Over the years I have been involved in great projects. One of the projects that I have particularly enjoyed recently is the role of Project Lead for the design of the operating equipment for a movable bridge in Bermuda. It has been amazing to follow this project from the first sketches and to design the mechanical components that will make it move in such a marvellous landscape. Seeing your ideas becoming reality is the most exciting reward for an engineer. To me working at Eadon means working on exciting and challenging projects every day. The chance to work in different sectors, from movable bridges to cranes for the nuclear industry, means I keep gaining experience in many sectors and therefore increasing my capability and knowledge. Everyone is involved in the different aspects of the company […]
