We believe that the data that we hold for our clients and develop as part of our work should be protected in the strongest ways and hence we are very pleased to announce that over the last few months we have been working towards and have achieved certification in the Government’s cyber security initiative, Cyber Essentials Plus.

Cyber Essentials is a cyber security standard, which organisations can be assessed and certified against. It identifies the security controls that an organisation must have in place within their IT systems in order to have confidence that they are addressing cyber security effectively and mitigating the risk from Internet-based threats.

The scheme focuses on the following five essential mitigation strategies.

• Boundary Firewalls and Internet Gateways
• Secure Configuration
• Access Control
• Malware Protection
• Patch Management

The Cyber Essentials scheme enables organisations to demonstrate to their customers that their data is adequately protected and that they take cyber security seriously.

Eadon employed the services of IT Governance to externally audit the Company’s IT systems and ensure all necessary precautions are taken to ensure they are secure against attack.

Whilst not a requirement of the scheme, it is Eadon’s intention to re-certify for Cyber Essentials Plus every year to provide our client’s with assurance that the security of our IT system’s and their data is being adequately maintained.
