Last week saw Eadon Consulting attend the Crown Estate UK Offshore Wind Supply Chain Event at York Race Course. The timely event was held the day after offshore planning consent was granted for the EON Humber Gateway Round 2 wind farm.

The event organised by Yorkshire Forward and One North East was well attended by approximately 400 delegates and featured presentations by many of the major developers and manufacturers in the offshore wind sector.

The main focus of the event was the Round 3 offshore wind projects. Round 3 offshore wind energy generation aims to deliver one quarter of the UK’s total electricity needs by 2020. For this to take place massive long term investment needs to take place creating with it thousands of jobs.

Of the nine Round 3 sites, Eadon Consulting is well placed to provide local assistance to suppliers in developing both the onshore and offshore infrastructure for the Hornsea site off the East Riding coast.
