Eadon Consulting Move to Leading UK Technology Centre

16/09/2009

Due to continued growth and expansion, Eadon Consulting has moved to new larger premises at one of the country’s leading technology centres. The move is part of an ongoing strategy that will facilitate future growth and development of the company.

The Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) in Rotherham is the UK’s premier advanced manufacturing technology park and is home to several hi-tech advanced engineering, manufacturing and materials organisations. Technologies on the park focus on materials and structures, covering metallic and composite materials.

“The move was vital to support the continued expansion and growth of the company” said Michael Thorogood, Director of Eadon Consulting. “Despite the challenging economic climate, there has been continued demand for our expertise and services. Moving to AMP provides enhanced facilities which enable us to satisfy our expanding client base and take the company forward.”

The Advanced Manufacturing Park Technology Centre is the UK’s first hydrogen powered building. Electricity is generated from wind turbines on the site. An electrolysis unit converts some of the wind energy into hydrogen, which is stored in composite cylinders. The hydrogen feeds a 30kW fuel cell, supplying the building with up to 30kW during the day.

Eadon Consulting Ltd is a leading independent mechanical and structural engineering design consultancy based in Rotherham. Their expertise includes movable bridges, nuclear design, renewable energy and waterways and flood defence. They have recently been involved in the design of access platforms for dehumidification work that is currently being carried out on the Forth Road Bridge.
