Further proof of the importance that the Government is placing on the nuclear sector was revealed today (03/12/09) when Business Secretary Lord Mandelson and Chancellor Alistair Darling announced that the site for the new Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (NAMRC) will be in South Yorkshire and more specifically the Advanced Manufacturing Park, the location of Eadon Consulting’s offices. 

The aim of the NAMRC is to provide a centre of excellence for the UK civil nuclear manufacturing industry supply chain and to ensure that manufacturers in the UK have the capability and capacity required to compete for nuclear new build in the UK and internationally. The centre will provide a range of services from skills training to research and development. The NAMRC will be led by the University of Sheffield in partnership with the University of Manchester, whilst Rolls Royce will be the lead industrial partner.
