Having recently won the contract for the Great Belt Bridge dehumidification project with The Spencer Group, Eadon Consulting have just completed the design for the largest moving bridge access gantries of this type ever built.  Following on from this the first set of main frame fabrication drawings has been issued to Storebaelt for their approval.

In additional to the usual challenges associated with the design of such bespoke equipment the Great Belt cable crawlers have been designed to maximise the travel with each operation; be more easily dismantled and transported; improve the ease of working and required manual handling; and minimise the complexity of the storm wind restraint system.

With fabrication of the gantries expected to be completed by January 2014, we are now continuing with the detailed fabrication drawings for the mechanisms, producing the O&M Manuals and safety procedures for the gantry’s use.
