Greenwich Swing Bridge Success

17/11/2015

The new Greenwich Reach Swing Bridge project in London, for which Eadon Consulting were the Mechanical and Electrical consultants, has been awarded a 2015 Institute of Structural Engineers Award.

Winner of the Pedestrian Bridge category, the project, which was completed earlier this year, now allows pedestrians, cyclists and wheelchair users to continue their walk along the edge of the river Thames. Eadon’s engineers, working alongside Flint and Neill, Moxon Architects and Knight Architects, designed several different aspects of the 50 metre crossing, specifically those associated with the movement and control of the bridge. The award was presented for excellence in structural design.

The Merchant Square footbridge project, in which Eadon also played an integral design role, received a commendation in the same category.
