Killaloe Canal Flow Gates Update

18/01/2011

One of the major elements of the Waterways Ireland Project to repair and widen the walls of the Killaloe Canal and install Flow Control Gates has passed a significant milestone with the completion of the fabrication of the flow control gates and stop logs.

The fabrications are now being painted prior to being delivered to site for the structural installation and commencement of the mechanical and electrical works. Eadon were responsible from the outset of the project for the design of the gates and stop logs, being named in the tender documents as preferred flow gate designer. In addition to the design, Eadon also produced the fabrication drawings with the aid of the 3D modelling package, Solidworks.
