More staff become Chartered

09/06/2017

The past year has seen another wave of staff development at Eadon Consulting, with both Gareth Uglow and Consuelo Bottamedi achieving Chartered status through the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Since achieving his Chartered status, Gareth has acted as project lead on development of the design for the access gantries for the Forth Road Bridge, as well as supporting the design for a set of tidal gates at Portmaddoch and the design of a lifting bridge at Birkenhead.  This has involved detailed design as well as 3D modelling of the structures, along with detailed hand calculations for design development.  He enjoys the opportunities at Eadon Consulting to take a design from concept through to detailed design, and on to providing on-site commissioning support.

Consuelo is very proud to have achieved Chartered status and is pleased with the  wide range of development opportunities that she has been given within Eadon Consulting since joining.  She has worked on multiple detailed finite element analysis (FEA) models, including development of a detailed shell analysis model for a high integrity nuclear crane in ANSYS APDL requiring both response spectrum and time history analysis for seismic loading.  She has extensive experience of seismic, dynamic and transient analysis and is looking forward to further developing her project management and design capabilities.
