A set of linkspan rollers designed by Eadon Consulting have recently been installed at the Dover berth 6 development.

Working alongside Structural Engineers Flint and Neill, Eadon were asked by the Dover Harbour Board to design a set of rollers to provide moving bearing support to the hydraulically lifted link span. Due to the significant amount of travel and onerous duty anticipated from operating at Europe’s busiest international ferry port, the design was carried out using a combination of the bridge and crane codes.

Dover berth 6 is due to open in October.
