Sustainable Tech, Positive Impact

Eadon is thrilled to have found ways to turn retiring old IT equipment into an opportunity to support our local community.

We recently offered our employees the chance to purchase some of our old laptops at a minimal cost, with a commitment to donate £50 each to Sheffield based charity, The Archer Project. This incredible charity provides support to homeless and vulnerable people in the city; and we were proud to have raised around £500 for them through this scheme.

Our commitment to making a positive impact extends to tech recycling too. We donated a 3D printer to a local school and we’ve handed over a variety of other equipment over the past 6 months, such as monitors and mobile phones, to Aspire Community Enterprise. This Sheffield based social enterprise specialises in computer recycling with the primary objective of providing a stable job and a supported working environment for vulnerable or marginalised people.

Our goal is not just to discard our old equipment, but to do so with a purpose – making a positive impact on our local community. It’s fantastic to be able to support these organisations and we aim to continue these efforts in the future.
