Welcome back Emma!

We’re delighted to welcome back Emma Taylor-Lonsdale, who is rejoining Eadon for a year-long placement after a successful stint with us last summer. As a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Sheffield, Emma returns with renewed enthusiasm and eager to further develop her skills.
Emma spent two-weeks with us last year working on our innovative REACH project. When asked why she wanted to return for her industrial placement she said she was drawn to the “supportive environment” she experienced here.
“I used to think that being trained in mechanical engineering meant you’d mostly work in that specific field, but my experience at Eadon showed me there’s a lot of crossover and opportunity to branch out,” she explained. “I’m eager to expand my skill set and particularly excited to work on nuclear projects. I’m keen to continue working on the REACH project I was working on last summer because it’s a chance for me to apply my engineering knowledge in new and challenging ways.”
“I think most of all I’m looking forward to getting to work on hands-on projects – like building testing rigs,” she said. “I’ve already completed the initial design for one and I’m excited to see it come to life soon.”
Aside from professional development, Emma is also focused on enhancing her interpersonal skills by working with our diverse team of engineers. She appreciates Eadon’s open, collaborative environment where “there’s never really a silly question and you can always get a straightforward answer.”
We can’t wait to see her continued growth and contributions over the next year. Welcome back Emma!
