We have an international reputation within the moving bridges sector and are proud of our work on many iconic and award winning bridges throughout the world. We work with architects, consultants and contractors to deliver design solutions that ensure the architectural impact of the concept is maintained, whilst also producing a cost effective, reliable and safe solution. Our work typically covers the mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and hydraulic aspects of moving bridge projects from concept through to detail design, construction and commissioning.
Our experience of moving bridges has included the design of machinery for a types and sizes of bridge, including swing, bascule and lift bridges. We are able to provide assistance from concept and feasibility studies through to detailed design, as well as helping to project manage and oversee the manufacture and installation of the equipment. Our flexible and collaborative approach enables us to deliver a tailored service to meet the needs of our client.


We have also designed simple fixed and moving bridges for pedestrians and cyclists. This has included working in steel and timber structures as well as composite (GRP) construction. Our experience with a variety of sizes and styles of bridge, enables us to pick the most appropriate solution given the client’s timescale, budget and aesthetic requirements.
In addition to the design of new bridge operating equipment we helped clients with the assessment, inspection and refurbishment of existing moving bridges. Our knowledge of the sector enables us to advise on the condition, suitability and compliance with current legislation and best practice. We can design and specify replacement equipment to enable historic and old projects to continue to operate reliably for many decades to come.
